Walnut Grove Wedding | Zoe & Yun

I was so happy when Zoe and Yun told me they were getting Married at the Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Farms, its one of my favorite locations! The weather was beautiful that day, and they were surrounded by their close friends and family.

I love hearing how people meet! They met online on OKCupid in 2013. Zoe emailed Yun first but Yun had just gotten off the website. A year later, Yun saw Zoe’s profile and emailed her without ever seeing Zoe’s initial email. They went to kaiten sushi (conveyor belt sushi) on their first date. Zoe said she was afraid of little round food, so they got brick toast instead of boba drinks. Many delicious meals later, they got married.

Zoe and Yun, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your special day!

Yuma Arizona, Melisa & Bill Married!

This wedding was so much fun to shoot! Melisa is my childhood friend, we were best buddies in the 6th grade, and we were obsessed with the movie The Outsiders, we would watch it over and over, “stay golden pony boy!” I watched my first MTV video at her house, Madonna! And her big sister Tina, was so cool, she would give us makeovers. We lost touch over the years, so I was so excited when she contacted me to photograph her wedding! I asked her how she met Bill, she had this to say, “Bill and I met through a mutual friend, he courted me for about three months. Would come over and make me and the kids wonderful dinners. Finally when I decided I would accept his date proposal we were set to go to dinner and a movie on a Wednesday night. He called me from the hospital and had to cancel because he had fallen while running along the river. He had broken his wrist in two places and needed surgery. About a week later he called and with his broken arm he mended my heart and took me to a wonderful dinner and made me laugh and smile.”

Melisa wanted a garden theme, and she transformed a friends backyard into the wedding of her dreams. She put so much work into all of the little details. Her cake was a bucket filled with flowers, amazing! Thanks to all of her friends and family for making me and my husband feel so welcome.

Laguna Hills | Lauren & Karen Married!

Lauren and Karen are from Georgia and they decided to get Married in Laguna Hills while here for work. They had a sweet and intimate little ceremony at the civic center and I got to be their witness! Afterwards we did some portraits at a beautiful location nearby. I had such a great time photographing these two on their Wedding day!

Santa Barbara & Los Olivos |Sara & Ryan’s Elopement

This post is just a tad late, but just a few weeks shy of their first year Anniversary! Sara and Ryan just happen to be my very good friends, so when they asked me to photograph their Wedding, I was super excited, but admittedly a little nervous too.  Sara and Ryan are photographers too, and for whatever reason, it just made me more nervous than usual. I soon realized, as we got going, there was no reason for it, and I got into my usual groove of shooting, and it turned out to be fun and relaxed. Sara and Ryan had a private ceremony at the Santa Barbara courthouse, just those two, and my husband Louie as their witness.  They were married last year in September on Friday the 13th. These two are so perfect for each other.

A Paper Anniversary

I worked on this project a few months back with my favorite stylist Alicia Buszczak. She made the dress, tie, rings, suspenders and flowers entirely out of old books. Hair and Makeup by Brittany Lauren Woodside. This is part one of a whole series with a theme of Anniversary gifts by year. This is year one, paper!

A special thanks to Sheridan, all of the Letters shown with the typewriter are actual love letters I copied from her website. Check it out HERE, so sweet. They are letters between her grandparents in the 20’s.

More to come soon…

Corrina & Tim Married!

Truckee, California, amazing.

Louie and I drove up the day before, it was such serene drive, no traffic, lots of good music, and new places to see. We stayed in the most gorgeous house that overlooked a meadow, which was also the ceremony site. The weather was crazy that day, it was cold, but not uncomfortable, and the clouds kept moving and changing, perfect for photos. Corrina made her own Wedding dress, you can read her blog about her process HERE. And if you didn’t see their engagement photos, check em out HERE. They are some of my favorites, maybe because Corrina is one of my dearest friends, or maybe because it was in the courtyard of her parents house in Joshua Tree (so many memories there!)
