Hailey’s Room Makeover06.11.12

I’m really excited to share the photos from Hailey’s room makeover. We have been working hard for the last few weeks, pulling all the ideas together and making it happen! I haven’t had much time to blog, I’ve been shooting so much, and working on this special project. For those of you who don’t know, Hailey is my very beautiful 16 year old niece. She and her Dad recently moved into a new place, and since she’s never really had a typically decorated girls room, I thought it was time! She’s doing really well in school, and I thought she deserved a nice space to feel inspired, to hang out with her friends, and most importantly have a great area to study in.

A lot of really amazing people helped us pull this all together, a special thanks to Lew Robertson (photographer) he took all the amazing pics Alicia Buszczak (stylist), Chrissy Cassidy (photographer), Alicia Peterson (photographer), Jennifer Bachelder (for the amazing cake), my cousin Amy for all the vintage frames, and Jack for helping us pull apart all the wood pallets to make the headboard and pinboard.

It all started with my pinterest board, which you can see HERE. Hailey and I came up with the color scheme together, gray and yellow.

Here is her room before

And here it is after!

We painted three walls a light gray and decided on one wall to be chalkboard (Alicia B’s idea!)
Here is Hailey and her friends getting to work!

Some details of her new desk area. A lot of people have been asking me about the feather wall decal, you can find this at BLIK. Alicia P was very patient and did a great job with this.

Alicia Buszczak is one of the most talented people I know, and she donated her time to this project. She came up with so many of the homemade things you see in the room. You can see some of the step by step tutorials on my pinterest, like the BUTTON ART, so cute!

All of the illustrations you see in the room came from Everything Etsy, there’s a huge list of free downloadable prints!

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY02.24.12

I haven’t blogged much lately, I’ve been so busy trying to finish up the new website. It really is a lot of work going through thousands of images I’ve taken over the last year and trying to figure out which ones to feature. I get emotionally attached to so many. It will be ready to view soon!

I had a great visit with my family in Florida in November, I have so many cute nephews! I have 7 total, they are some of my hardest subjects, little boys never sit still!

And like so many people, I’m completely addicted to Instagram & Pinterest. I love how a photo can take you back to an exact moment or feeling. I might easily forget something as simple as that quiet walk I took that one morning, and all the things I was thinking about along the way. All these instagram photos remind me of little important moments. Follow me HERE if you’d like. I’m also loving pinterest, so many beautiful things to be inspired by, you can find me HERE. I have an inspiration board just for my love of Airstream, one of these days I’ll have that office on wheels.

An afternoon at Balboa Park07.26.11

I spent a fun afternoon with my Cousin Denver, his wife Anna, Haley, and their new addition, Beckett. They were here visiting from Ohio, and it was a great opportunity to get some nice portraits of them together. My Cousin John and his family met us out there from Corona (I’ll be posting those soon!) We all went to dinner afterwards to True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach, delicious food!

What an adorable family they are.

Summer Jam and Grandma07.18.11

I would love to learn canning. I have memories of going to my Grandma Fowler’s house and seeing her pantry full of vegetables and fruits from her garden in mason jars. She was always making something in the kitchen, but my favorites were her biscuits and fresh jam. I didn’t make these Jams, but I tried to make them look pretty at least! I aspire to be as good at everything as she was.

Me and Grandma.

Happy Fathers Day!06.19.11

Not only is my Pops the most amazing father anyone could ever have, he is also an amazing Grandpa (pop pop)! There are so many sentimental things I could say about him, but I put those in his card.  I also wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to my brother-in-law John, he is raising 4 boys on his own, and I am so proud of him. Here is my Pops fishing in St. Petersburg, Fl.

Fowler Boys04.19.11

I have seven nephews and one niece, they are all beautiful, and they are always willing to let me take their photo. This is what Dakota and Dallas look like when I say, “look at me with a really serious expression.” Because only a serious expression would match the awesome wallpaper in my Mom’s bathroom.

A letter from Becca01.25.11

I just had to share this thoughtful letter from Becca. I photographed her and her brother a few months ago and designed Christmas Cards for them. Isn’t she adorable?

the correll and roses . family portrait . yucca valley09.28.10

September 28th, 2010

I grew up in Joshua Tree, so anytime I have the opportunity to do photography in the high desert, I get really excited. It’s funny, because I didn’t appreciate growing up there until I left. I photograph my niece Hailey a lot (she even has her own section on my website), but this is the first time I photographed her with her family the Roses. You may wonder why the desert looks really green… it has a high water table in this particular area, you can read about it HERE. I hiked here a lot as a kid and it was so much fun to go back there for these portraits. Here’s a few of my favorites.

My Dad can beat up your Dad06.20.10

June 20th, 2010

There are so many things I love about my Dad. He coached all of my baseball and softball teams, he built the house I grew up in, he makes me laugh like no other, he rides a harley, he once bought an extra cake and gift on my birthday for my little sister because she felt left out, he has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known, and he loves my Mom.

I love you Pops, Happy Fathers Day!!
