Families 201204.14.13

This might be my longest blog post ever. I did quite a few family portraits before the Holidays last year, and haven’t had a chance to post them up yet. So here are a bunch, all in one post! I was feeling quite sentimental when I was putting these little collages together yesterday afternoon. First, I was chatting with my sister Jamie, and we haven’t spoken in a really, really long time. Both of my sisters have had their share of troubles over the years (long story) and the last few have been particularly hard on my family. Jamie is finally getting her life together and she just sounded like, “her” and after we talked I just broke down for awhile, I didn’t realize how much I missed her. So then Louie and I went to see the movie 42. I think my sister opened me up, because I cried though out the whole movie, and then in the grocery store afterwards. I came home and was finishing these up and I started feeling so blessed, that all these families trust me with capturing their memories. Just a crazy emotional day. Poor Louie.

The Geeter Family02.15.13

Little Michael was so serious at first, but we finally got him to smile! And look at those dimples. They’ve since had a little girl and she is so adorable. They’re now a family of four.

Amy, Joel, and Zoey!08.29.11

I photographed Amy and Joel’s Wedding in 2009, a few months ago I was there for their maternity session, and most recently I met baby Zoey! This is such an exciting time for this brand new family. Here are a few pics of Amy and Joel at Disneyland before the arrival of Zoey.

And then came Zoey…

Addison, Ava, and Jayden02.24.11

Cousins are those childhood playmates who grow up to be forever friends.

I photographed both Jennifer and Karla’s Weddings, they are sisters. Since their Weddings they both have new babies! I loved spending the afternoon with them.

Mindy and Joshua10.04.09

October 4, 2009

This is my sister Mindy and her baby Joshua. Its weird to think of her having kids (she has 3!) I still see her as my baby sis, she would jump up and down outside my bedroom window when I was a teen, trying to spy on me. All I would see was the top of her blonde hair bouncing all crazy trying to reach. She would invite me to “Joe’s Bar” to try one of her delicious mud pies. She and my middle sis Jamie would play this game called “turtle” where Jamie would use a big cushion from the couch and make herself into a turtle, and Mindy would be her human friend. One day, I guess Jamie was tired of being the turtle, and pretended to die, she actually rolled over onto the floor and let the cushion flop off. Mindy started to really cry, “turtle died, turtle died” It was hilarious!!! Well to me and Jamie anyway.
